Furness Fishing Association

Club member Johnny Baker has made a few changes and as a result we now have a much better forum for Club Members to use to discuss angling in this area.

The Forum is run independently, and not by the Committe. However, it is requested that all posts to the Forum are kept clean, and that the Forum is not used for "having a go" at other anglers.

2009 Junior Matches

All Junior Matches for the 2009 season are detailed below, along with the completed Match Results.

Additional rules for Junior matches
Rules pertaining to parents

Parents may accompany Junior competitors
Parents are allowed to set up tackle, plumb for depth, sort out tangles, replace lost hooks etc.
Junior competitors must have control of the rod/pole at all times. I.E Casting out, striking, hooking and landing fish.
Parents may assist by netting fish hooked by a junior competitor.
Parents may mix groundbait before matches start. There after all groundbait and hookbaits shall only be handled by the junior competitor.

Junior Matches are free entry, bait is provided and gift vouchers (for local takle shops) are given for the top 4 in each match, plus the winner of each match gets a trophy that he or she keeps for a year and a replica trophy which is there's to keep forever.
